I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
